PAY UPDATE 4/20/04


Paychecks received on 4/27/04 should show the full President�s Annual Comparability Increase and locality pay increases with backpay. The amount that should show up as Base Rate at the top of your Statement of Earnings and Leave can be found at www.opm.gov/oca/04tables. This amount should also show up in box 20 when you get a Notification of Personnel Action (SF50) showing the pay increase retroactive to 1/11/04. We still don�t know for sure when we will be converted to Core Comp but the effective date will be 2/08/04, the first day of Pay Period 05. Included with this update are 2 documents. One gives information on how to compute what your base rate will be at conversion. The second compares actual pay for 4 pay periods to what would have been paid under Core Comp with the higher base rate. WIG step increases were frozen as of 2/08/04 but we are still receiving the 5% Controller Differential. I ran this comparison because I suspect the FAA will tell us they don�t owe us backpay at conversion since we have been getting the 5%. The FAA hasn�t told us how they plan to handle the conversion, the comparison shows we would be a little behind if they don�t recalculate premium pays and TSP contributions.
