This Memorandum contains the understanding reached by the Parties concerning the transitional training to be conducted on the Next Generation Weather Radar (NEXRAD).

1. All employees with NEXRAD responsibility will receive the transitional training. Employees will be trained on all systems for which they will be held responsible.

2. The training will include the use of operational NEXRAD equipment.

3. Training of bargaining unit employees will be conducted by B.I.T./F.I.T. cadre instructors certified by the equipment vendors.

4. A glossary of contractions has been compiled for inclusion in the student guide.

5. The agency and the vendor have agreed that "hands-on" exercises will constitute a major portion of the training program.
