Ms. Jane Garvey
FAA Administrator, AOA-1
800 Independence Ave., SW
Washington, D.C. 20591
Dear Madam Administrator:
This letter serves to follow-up on our meeting yesterday. As we discussed the pay negotiations between NAATS and the FAA are at impasse for the following reasons:
NAATS cannot accept less than comparability with the other FAA air traffic controllers,
The Parties agree that comparability represents an increase of 13.2%, not including the ATRA roll-in of 4.1%,
The FAA offer of record is an increase of 0%,
The Parties last met with the FMCS on April 17, 2001 with no progress being made,
No further FMCS meetings are scheduled or contemplated.
Three weeks ago NAATS contacted the mediator assigned to our case, Tom O'Brien. He agreed that future meetings were pointless given the positions of the Parties.
Sincerely,
Walter W. Pike President
