Pay Raise Information Following is the procedure that will be used to calculate our annual pay raise for 2005. The language in our contract on page 192-193 about the OSI increase is a little bit confusing, but it guarantees us the higher of the Presidents Annual Comparability increase (2.5% this year) or the percentage of the full OSI approved by Administrator (3.15% which is 90% of the 3.5% full OSI). This year we also all get a 0.6% SCI because there is no process in place for our bargaining unit to determine how the SCI should be awarded. We always get the full locality increase.
The example below uses a basic pay of $55,000 with the Rest of
the U.S. locality pay. To calculate your raise use the basic pay in Block 20A
on your most recent SF-50. The new locality pay rates can be found at
www.opm.gov/oca, click
the link Salaries and Wages. The web page at
www.faa.gov/ahr/comp
shows the pay calculation for previous years for all the FAA employee groups
and should be updated soon for 2005. The raise will be effective the pay
period beginning January 9. The payroll programming may not be done for the
raise to show up in our February 1 checks but will be retroactive as in
previous years.
NOTE: If you cant find your most
recent SF-50 you can add 3.75% to the percentage increase for your locality
area. Then multiply (1 + that total ) by the Base Rate at the top of your pay
stub to get your new pay. That should be within $50 of what the actual change
will be. It wont match because the first method applies the 2 percentages to
different dollar amounts and results in a dollar-weighted percentage increase.
